Pezeshkian admits the suspected truth: IRGC rules Iran

President Masoud Pezeshkian has finally confirmed the suspected truth; his elected government is nothing more than a powerless, hollow façade.

Press reports indicate that President Masoud Pezeshkian requested permission from the Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to resign from his post.

This dramatic decision stems from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) increasing dominance over all of the Islamic Republic's central decision-making processes.

Consequently, the President and his cabinet have been completely sidelined from effectively governing the major affairs of the nation.

Iran International reported the May 31 letter warning that key state power centers have decisively fallen under the control of select IRGC commanders.

Pezeshkian warned of a "deep and unprecedented rift" within the highest echelons, signaling the government’s total exclusion from vital national files.

While a government source dismissed these reports as mere rumors, the situation aligns with the consistent conclusions of political analysts.

They assert a serious conflict is brewing between the political establishment and the Islamic Republic's powerful military and security institutions.

The IRGC has systematically curtailed presidential powers and now controls key aspects of day-to-day state administration.

Political analyst Abdul Nabi Bakkar said "the IRGC maintains a democratic façade to mask its complete control over the country's governance."

"The Islamic Republic’s conflict with US and Israel since late February exposed the charade, proving that fateful national decisions lie with the IRGC, not the civilian political government," he told Pishtaz.

This military faction imposes its will through aggression and the severe domestic repression using arbitrary arrests and internet shutdowns.

The President has been stripped of all real authority following the IRGC’s obstruction of his new cabinet appointments and his internet directives.

Analysts fear the future will bring intensified domestic repression, heightened regional instability, and the scuttling of any opportunity for peace.
