IRGC experts drowned in Houthis' tunnels in Yemen during heavy rains

The deaths provide further evidence of the Iranian regime's meddling and of the Houthis' use of a modus operandi employed by Hizbullah.

ADEN -- Two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) weapon experts who were operating out of a secret underground tunnel in a Houthi-controlled port in Yemen drowned in recent heavy rains.

The two men lost their lives inside a tunnel carved out by the Iran-backed Houthis in the al-Hodeidah province port of al-Salif after it was flooded during torrential rains, local media outlets reported August 9.

The Houthis reportedly recovered the bodies from the tunnel, which extends more than 50 meters underground in the port's al-Jabana area.

In addition to conclusively revealing the presence of IRGC weapon experts in a Houthi-controlled part of Yemen, the incident drew attention to the Houthis' underground operations, analysts said.

And they showed how deeply the Iranian regime has invested in its Yemeni proxy to pursue its regional agenda and ambitions, even as the Iranian people suffer the consequences of these actions, which further cement Iran's pariah status.

The carving out of underground tunnels and bunkers to use as storage areas for weapons and as barracks for military experts is a strategy that links the Houthis to other Iranian proxies, including Lebanese Hizbullah.

"The Houthis are adopting the same methodology that Iran and Hizbullah have adopted with regard to digging bunkers," Yemeni Deputy Minister of Justice Faisal al-Majeedi told Pishtaz.

"Hizbullah and the Houthis have underground bunkers," al-Majeedi said, adding that the Houthis have many in Sanaa, al-Hodeidah and in other areas they control.

"Despite the damage to the infrastructure caused by the digging of bunkers, the Houthis still use them to store weapons and logistical materials, draw up war plans and smuggle drugs," he said.

They also use these underground "military cities" to train their fighters and to conceal their own leaders as well as experts from the IRGC and Lebanese Hizbullah, he added.

A threat to civilians

Infrastructure in al-Hodeidah has been weakened as tunnels beneath it sink or collapse amid heavy rainfall, al-Majeedi said.

Floodwater has swept away "many mines planted by the Iranian militias," he added, which puts civilians in these areas at risk.

Even without the torrential rains, the presence of IRGC operatives and the underground storage of weapons are dangerous to the civilian population.

"These bunkers and tunnels are used as bases to launch attacks, train individuals and to house workshops for the assembly and manufacture of drones," political analyst Faisal Ahmed told Pishtaz.

"They are a threat to the lives and stability of Yemenis, in addition to destabilizing the region's security and threatening international trade in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb strait," Ahmed said.

The entire Iranian nation is suffering the final blow. Why aren't the rich Arab countries with these hungry beggars? They only care about their own people. Why does Iran help these barefoot people? Because the government of Iran is based on lies. And in the same way, they move forward by lies because if the truth is revealed, they will be disgraced. This is why they want Israel to fight for years. So that the lies that the nation is fed are not exposed... America and Europe are not against it because Israel has enabled them to buy all the resources of the Middle East for free and make them expensive for us. The name of Iran has made it possible, and every weapon they make by the capital of the Middle East. Currently, whatever weapons, ammunition, pumps or anything else factories manufacture … money has flowed into these factories. Poor hungry people, work to make the weapon-makers enjoy …

As the famous saying goes, you reap what you sow, this storytelling will not change anything; one should kill to live, and this is the logic of the vampire imperialists. No one exchanges a 5000 Toman note with a 1000 Toman one. One should play this game of chess well to be victories in the end. Yes, dear. One should sacrifice his life to keep Mohammedan Islam away from threats. Yes, honey.

To fight the enemy, you have to pay a price; I will give my life for my leader.

Burn and burn well, may the envious be blinded.

The leaders of our country are ready to attack Israel at the cost of destroying our own people.

Just write something that....you idiot, one who builds a basement takes every weather condition into consideration…it’s now very similar to the story of the dirt and the wheelbarrow. I do not understand why you haven’t thrown the dirt a little farther. You think the audience is really stupid. Shame on you. Child killers. They have it right when they say spilling good children’s blood is worth a lot more for you Shamir like humans.

Those who don't know and don't know that they don't know; they remain in deep ignorance forever. These empty and delusional thoughts of yours have led the country to international isolation, enmity, embargo and misery, and thanks to the increasing ignorance of a bunch of fools like you we are sinking even more than before in the mess we have created dear bro.
